It is quite unsurprising that Lionel Messi is now the talk of the town in soccer circles. But what is surprising is the unusual reason behind it. Hours ago, an Instagram account in the name of Brazilian soccer icon Neymar‘s ex-girlfriend Fernanda Campos, took the web by storm by leaking screenshots of her alleged private chat with Leo Messi. Though this has caused a stir among soccer fans, quite a few on the web have taken Campos’ bombshell with a pinch of salt.
The leaked screenshot involving the OnlyFans model and Messi has now prompted certain social media handles and netizens to do a thorough fact-check to see whether these texts are fake or legit. Now, let us look at the finer details of Lionel Messi’s alleged texts and see if they are framed or real.
Are Lionel Messi’s alleged texts to Fernanda Campos legit?

Per a fake account of Fernanda Campos’ leaked private chat, Lionel Messi has sent two texts to the former. The first one reads, “no puedo abrir,” which translates to “can’t open.” This is seen in Messi’s reply to Campos when she shared her private account. The next alleged text reads, “¿Donde vives en Brazil?,” which translates to “where do you live in Brazil.” Now, the devil in the details has been exposed by certain social media handles including the X account ‘All About Argentina.’
Per the page, if the Inter Miami star were to text Campos, he would never use the word ‘vives.’ Instead, he would use ‘vivis,’ per the Argentine dialect. Besides, Messi would have texted “no lo puedo abrir,” which translates to “I can’t open,” instead of just texting the Spanish equivalent of “can’t open.”
Apart from these two, there are a few other reasons why these texts seem to be fabricated. Brazil with a ‘z’ is seldom used by Spanish speakers. Rather, they write ‘Brasil’. The most trivial part in the alleged texts is the use of an inverted question mark at the beginning of the text which inquires if Campos resides in Brazil. With the use of the inverted question mark, the text seems to be directly copied from Google Translate. On top of it all, this account of the model looks fake as it is not the official one.
At least they should’ve edited Messi’s text better 😂😂😂
As it’s in the photo, Argentinians and Messi obviously, don’t use “vives” in its dialect, instead they use “vivís”
These Brazilians are salty and can’t stop making fake stuff about him since that game. https://t.co/yZ4ek9l6Pb
