Things are slowly starting to move in the January transfer window. After an impressive start to the season in the English Premier League, Newcastle United has suddenly seen a downward spiral. Now, the Saudi-owned club will reportedly take a few bold steps by sending its midfielder Miguel Almiron to Al Shabab. Almiron has shown some great promise for the club but could not convert it into numbers and results. He scored 30 goals for the Magpies, but this season saw him netting just 5 times with 2 assists.
The club already under the FA radar for FFP regulations will reportedly try to unload even Bruno Guimaraes and Alexander Isak to stay safe. However, despite agreeing on the Paraguayan, the parties have not closed the deal according to Ben Jacobs. Newcastle United over the last few weeks have slipped to 10th in the table, losing all four previous games in the Premier League. Now the club is looking for a suitable alternate for the offloading players.

Everton’s Amadou Onana is one of the targets for midfield, but the Toffees are expecting around $63.5 million. However, the club’s main issue will be attached to the FFP rules. It has reported losses of $93.6 million for the year 2022–2023. Although the revenue is estimated to be around $318 million, an increase of 39%, their expenses seem to have canceled out the advantage.
However, the CEO, Darren Eales, claims to be in control of the situation, saying, “We’re compliant in the year we’re talking about here and our plans are always to be compliant going forward.” As the club takes intense measures to stay within the FFP boundaries, Al Shabab also looks for a revival.

Will Newcastle United’s Miguel Almiron turn the tide for Al Shabab?
Almiron could prove handy in the Saudi club’s crisis. Al Shabab is lingering 11th in the Roshn Saudi League after struggling to win it since 2012. The club from Riyadh is finding it tough to compete with its bigger Riyadh rivals, who are even backed by the PIF. Even though Miguel Almiron may not match the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar, he can link up with another just-signed Belgian star on the team.

Al Shabab was able to secure the services of Yannick Carrasco for $16 million. Additionally, their recent attempt to sign Jose Mourinho for a resurgence has seemingly turned out to be a flop. Nevertheless, the club will fight the crisis, and adding a player of Almiron’s quality will most likely turn out to have a positive outcome.
