Soccer fans over the decade have enjoyed the rivalry of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Despite his recent trouble with injuries, Erling Haaland remains the joint-highest goal scorer in the Premier League with 14 goals. He has maintained a brilliant start to his career with Manchester City since arriving from Borussia Dortmund last season. However, former Los Blancos boss Fabio Capello feels that the 23-year-old forward is not one of the successors of Ronaldo and Messi. He said, “For me, the two footballers who are going to fight like Messi and Cristiano did are Mbappé and Bellingham. Further explaining his reason, he added, “The two of them have more technical quality than Haaland.”
But make no mistake about how Capello praised the Norwegian star’s impressive goal-scoring prowess. But, he said that Mbappe and Bellingham have all the qualities along with their goal-scoring ability, dribbling skills, and technical qualities. On the other side, he put the Norwegian forward in the category of a pure forward whose best role is playing number 9.
It will be interesting whether the Los Blancos legend stays committed to his opinion till the end or changes it this season. As far as Cristiano Ronaldo is concerned, he has also praised the Manchester City forward.
