One such person who has been affected by the war is Nadezhda Karpova. Karpova has been a first-team player for the Russian Women’s National soccer team.

Since the war began, Karpova has been very vocal about it on her social media. She has been constantly posting messages that highlight the message that people should be ‘anti-war’. Karpova has relatives in Ukraine. That is the real reason why Karpova is so furious with the President of Russia. Karpova currently plays football for RCD Espanyol, a soccer club in Spain.

Recently, Karpova had a shocking outburst on social media. But this wasn’t a surprise, as the Russian soccer player was already constantly speaking things against the war. However, the thing that triggered her the most was when a video of Alexander Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin surfaced online.
In that video, Lukashenko joked about Putin and himself being the most co-aggressive, toxic, and harmful people on this planet. In response to that Karpova posted, “You’re sc*m, you’re sc**ndrels, you’re the ones who committed the genocide, you’re the ones who must be tried”. She continued, “You’re not just ‘toxic’, you are f****** fascists who have long had no place in today’s world, and I hope you’ll get what you deserve, because good always triumphs over evil”.

One of the other times Karpova spoke out was in October. However, Karpova urged people to not join the army. She posted, “If you don’t want to fertilize the land, don’t go to the military registration and enlistment offices, it’s not just ‘they call me—I’ll go.’ You will be sent to [commit] crime. In Ukraine, there are people like us—and you will go to kill them?”
The war has basically caused a domino effect in different industries. In soccer, Russia is now not participating in international competitions. Manchester United immediately terminated their £40 million agreement with the Russian airline Aeroflot.
