The Kylian Mbappe-Real Madrid saga has reached its climax. Reports around Europe are circulating that the Frenchman has informed PSG that he will be leaving the club at the end of the season. After a long wait, the 2018 World Cup winner will finally get to complete his dream move. However, in the middle of the euphoria, a new twist arises as PSG’s stakeholders have imposed stringent financial demands on the star player.
This fresh update comes from The Athletic’s Mario Cortegana, who claims that following a 1-hour meeting with PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi on Tuesday, a request was presented to Kylian Mbappe. Mr. Al-Khelaifi reportedly insisted to the 25-year-old that he must either make financial sacrifices or designate a part of the signing bonus that he expects to receive from his new club, which PSG reckons will be Real Madrid. However, this is contrary to what was reported before.

PSG icon Jerome Rothen earlier claimed that Al-Khelaifi was impressed by Mbappe’s way of handling the transfer talks. Additionally, Rothen further added that “there will be no sporting sanction” on the striker to leave Parc des Princes. Yet, making financial sacrifices comes as a surprise, which potentially adds a complex layer to the transfer. As of now, it hasn’t been reported whether Mbappe has accepted his club’s condition.
Perhaps this is PSG’s way of asking for a loyalty bonus in exchange for their willingness to let him go on a free. In fact, further dots are connecting why the Parisians are eager to receive financial incentives through Mbappe.
Of course, now that their star player is leaving the club, the French capital will need a replacement. So which candidate will replace him at PSG?

This indicates that PSG would probably need to spend more than $250 million to acquire the services of both stars. Additionally, the Parisians seem to have a go-ahead from Frank Leboeuf, a 1998 World Cup winner, in the Osimhen pursuit. Whatever it may be, they should find a Kylian Mbappe replacement as soon as possible.
