Kylian Mbappe continues to hold the stage due to his domestic future. The Frenchman has ignited a tug-of-war between Paris Saint-Germain and potential suitors- Real Madrid. As the battle intensifies, his current domestic side has reportedly played its trump card, a tactical proposal to pull the 25-year-old away from Los Blancos’ interest.
Earlier, reports suggested that the Parisians had presented him with a more lucrative renewal deal, 3X of what Real Madrid would offer. However, it now appears that they have identified a tempting factor to influence the 2018 World Cup winner to stay put at Parc des Princes. As per Ben Jacobs, PSG is willing to allow Kylian Mbappe to participate in both the UEFA Euro and the Paris Summer Olympics. Eager to represent Les Bleus in both tournaments, the player reportedly considers it a ‘dealbreaker‘ if any club, whether PSG or Madrid, is not open to his absence.
Playing in the Euros and the Olympics means Kylian Mbappe would be absent from domestic action in June, July, and August. But PSG is the only club that is openly accepting his 3-month absence. However, there is a catch: it could cost the Ligue 1 side over €20 million ($21 million) in wages. The risk multiplies if the striker walks away with the 3-month salary without even playing for PSG in the preseason and then signs for Real Madrid or other suitors!

This is something that PSG would need to agree with Kylian Mbappe- that their leniency towards NT gametime should result in him signing the contract extension. Either way, it remains to be seen what he will choose. Speaking of the summer games, one of Mbappe’s compatriots doesn’t see him participate in both tournaments.

Host Gregory Ascher of “L’EQUIPE de Greg” asked Charlotte Lorgere of RC Lens if she was upset that Kylian Mbappe would be competing in the Olympics. She said, “He remains human; he’s not a robot. For me, it’s impossible for him to make the Euro by playing every match for 90 minutes [in the Olympics], hoping that France goes the furthest.”
Charlotte Lorgere also said that it’s ‘impossible’ any club would allow him to play in both international tournaments. Notably, Didier Deschamps was also unsure when asked about the striker’s involvement with Thierry Henry’s Olympic team.
