While many of her teammates are debuting at the Olympics in Paris in the twilight of their careers, the 20-year-old Salma Paralluelo might be looking at the first of many Summer Games. Salma Paralleulo’s father Jaime Paralluelo was born in 1960, in Zaragosa, Spain. There’s no information on Jaime Paralluelo’s profession. He does not seem to have had an athletic career as well. But he raised three athletes, including Salma, who tried her hands at track and field before venturing into soccer. Salma’s mother, Disodada Ayingono, was born in 1977 in Equatorial Guinea in the Fang community. Thanks to her mother’s roots, Salma holds Equatoguinean citizenship and is eligible to play for its national team.

Disodada Ayingono migrated to Spain in search of better medical treatment for her son from a previous relationship. Salma’s step-brother suffered from a congenital vision deficiency. Similar to Salma’s father’s case, there is no information about her mother’s professional background and education.
