Instead, she chose the number 15 as a compromise, and eventually, it became her favorite number. However, at the Washington Spirit, she had to switch to number 17, as 15 was Jo Lohman’s retired number. This shows how open-minded she is throughout her childhood.

Although born in San Diego, he has spent many years living in various southeast areas of the United States. Her father is an infantry officer who served for over 30 years and recently retired, leaving a distinguished career behind. Hershfelt has been constantly moved from Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida to Mississippi and has changed schools throughout her life.

Her father’s military background goes quite a long way in making her life. Disciplined, structured, and having a very strong work ethic are some traits of hers. Hershfelt says that growing up with a parent in the military taught her life to adapt quickly to new surroundings. Hershfelt’s experience growing up with parents in the military also taught her to respect the surrounding people. Respecting others and working hard seemed to be the very essence taught in her upbringing.
