Harry Kane is one of the most renowned soccer players. He is widely regarded as one of the best strikers in the world and has won numerous awards and accolades throughout his career. In fact, he also won the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in recognition of his services to football.

Aside from making a name for himself in soccer, the 29-year-old has done quite a social work that mainly revolves around mental health. The Tottenham star has even launched a foundation under his own name. The foundation mainly caters to mental health issues. Hence, in an attempt to create more awareness about the issue, the player has teamed up with many partners.

With the ongoing Mental Health Awareness Week, Kane is busy enlightening people about the issue. In fact, he recently sat down with F1 star George Russell to talk about the crucial subject.

Harry Kane and George Russell chat about mental health

Recently, Harry Kane shared a small glimpse of his chit-chat with George Russell on Instagram. Both famous sportspeople had some wise words to say. “Obviously, we both started to learn more and more about mental health recently. And this chat today is just to share some of our experiences, I guess, that we’ve both gone through in our careers so far, the highs and lows,” said Kane.

“I’ll lean on my family and my wife, to talk about certain situations. But then, they don’t always understand what you’re going through in an elite environment either.”

The skipper insisted that it was important to have people around you who can listen to you. “So that’s why I try and say to people look, talk to as many people as you can, tell them how you’re feeling. Because everyone sees things in different ways and their opinions and people are there to listen and people are there to support you and give you advice on what they think,” he added.

Kane’s words were acknowledged by Russell, who also had some enlightening words to add. “Everybody is going to have struggles at one point or another and find them ways to deal with that, you can’t just let it stay inside and that pressure buildup, because we’re all going to explode at some point,” he said.

“And that’s why I want to encourage people to talk about it and encourage people to seek help when needed. And I think just having these conversations makes me feel good to talking about it, even talking to yourself, it feels good,” Russell added.

It seems both of their thoughts resonate on such a significant matter. Indeed, it’s good to see Russell join the force of Kane to enlighten people about mental health.
