By choosing to reunite with Lionel Messi at Inter Miami, Luis Suarez lost a significant fortune that awaited him. The Uruguayan striker terminated his deal with Brazil’s Gremio, despite a year and a half remaining in his contract. This means he snubbed around $4 million, only to take a drastic pay cut and pair up with Messi again. Not going to the highest bidder is deemed unwise by a significant lot. However, Spanish journalist Nahuel Beau, who is close to Uruguay NT, begs to differ.

Beau told EssentiallySports in an exclusive interview, why Miami is a great destination for Suarez, considering his long battles with ‘physical stress, injuries, and top-level competition.’

Known for his reportage on the Uruguay national team, Nahuel Beau spoke about Suarez’s prospects in the NT and Inter Miami. He asserted that Luis Suarez is an asset and ‘idol’ for Uruguay in the twilight of his career. Then, Beau commended the striker’s Miami move. I think it is a reasonable step for Luis Suarez, who in 2023 proved to be at the highest level with Gremio in a tough league like Brazil’s. But so many years of physical stress, his injuries, top-level competition… I think there was no better place for him than Inter Miami, where he will also be reunited with old friends,” said Nahuel Beau.

Moreover, the renowned journalist detailed how this full-fledged Barca reunion will help Miami in the long run. While Lionel Messi and Suarez can be the strike partners, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba can serve them with significant chances. That was the case in Barcelona during these stars’ prime. Messi, Busquets, and Alba have already proven their mettle in Miami. And Luis Suarez comes off a stellar season in Gremio. Hence, these four can chase greater glory in the MLS.

Nahuel Beau bets on Miami in title races

Beau said that the former Barcelona stars in Miami know each other well, and are habitual to winning titles together. The Spanish journalist thinks these ex-Blaugrana men could mirror that championship mettle in the United States.  In my opinion, with them Inter Miami is going to be a sure favorite to win all the titles,” Beau said. He further added that no matter what has changed, El Pistolero’s competitive spirit has remained a constant.
