Is Rose Lavelle the most underrated star in USWNT history? Let's hear your thoughts!

The USWNT is heading into the 2024 Paris Olympics with extreme determination. The team hasn’t tasted major success in recent times and hence top players are expected to go blazing during the 2024 games. All eyes will be on Rose Lavelle who’s been one of the best midfielders for them in recent times. Scoring 25 goals in 100 games for the Stars and Stripes, she hit the net in the final of the 2019 World Cup. However, as she heads to France with many expectations on her shoulders, she has a few dear ones who prove her some comfort. Therefore, let’s explore who they are as fans cannot wait to know about the support system behind the player’s life.

Delving deep into the near and dear of Rose Lavelle

Born on May 14, 1995, Lavelle comes from a family familiar with sports but not soccer. Her parents are father Marty and mother Janet Lavelle and she grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. Although not much is known about her father’s age, it is known that he is a businessman and owns a construction company. Marty is also a basketball fan and used to take any one of Rose’s siblings to the home games but was born to a former football quarterback from the 1940s Charles “Red” Lavelle who played for the Xavier. But, Lavelle’s father himself may be a softball player according to a few reports.

On the other hand, Rose was born on Mother’s Day, 1995 and her mother felt that she would have named the child Patrick if it was a male. It is claimed that Janet Lavelle also hails from Cincinnati but her professional details remain to be less known. However, she has a large family herself with 12 siblings and 65 first cousins, and has developed an interest in soccer after her daughters started playing when they were young.

Lavelle’s dating life and other family members

Apart from her parents, the 2020 Olympics Bronze medal winner has three siblings. Rose is the third on the siblings list with brother John being the eldest. She also has an older sister Nora and a younger sister Mary, but it was Nora who led Rose to take up soccer. The 29-year-old testified that as a kid she loved to copy Nora. But a surprising member of her family is Wilma, an 11-year-old English bulldog that could be cheering Lavelle from Paris itself. Rose revealed Wilma to be her best friend and is also popular among fans with over 13000 Instagram followers. But does the soccer star have a boyfriend?

Coming to her relationship, Lavelle has not announced anything yet. However, earlier talks stated that she was dating baseball star Max Fried. They both went together as dates for the ESPY 2019 and have been rumored to be in a relationship since then, but there is no confirmation yet. However, the star has many people to back her for the Olympics, but can she win the gold with USWNT in Paris this time? Let us know in the comments.
