“Modrić bought 50 Rolex watches after his Ballon d’Or win & gave it to his teammates & staff at Real Madrid/Croatia. Even the drivers got one,” said Simon Bastiansen.

The player wanted to thank everyone for the immense support that helped him win such a prestigious award. “Without them, I’d never have won [the Ballon d’Or],” said Luka to Simon back in 2018.
