Piers Morgan has once again trolled his old foe, Megan Rapinoe. The outspoken TV personality has always criticized the USWNT icon. Moreover, the USWNT legend faced an enormous setback when her last professional soccer match ended most unexpectedly. She suffered a severe injury and faced a 1-2 loss against FC Gotham in the NWSL Championship on Saturday.

It is natural for Rapinoe to feel terrible about how things ended in the last professional match of her career. Being someone who never hesitates to speak her mind after the match, she claimed that God didn’t exist. This comment of hers did not sit well with Morgan, and he later employed it as ammunition in his response.

Rapinoe suffered the injury in the sixth minute of the game and later stated that she might have torn her Achilles. The OL Reign star tried her best to laugh off the set of unfortunate incidents. Subsequently, in the post-match press conference, Rapinoe candidly spoke about her thoughts. She said, “I’m not a religious person or anything and if there was a god, like, this is proof that there isn’t. This is f**ed up. It’s just f**ed up. Six minutes in and I eat my Achilles.”

When Piers Morgan came across these comments from Rapinoe, he tweeted, “I’d say it’s proof there is, and even God finds Ms Rapino insanely smug and irritating.” The USWNT legend was exasperated when her injury forced her to leave the game early. However, Morgan didn’t hesitate to take a dig at the terrible situation that Rapinoe faced on a crucial day.

The American star’s non-contact injury during a defensive play made her emotional, and she left the field by giving a tight hug to her former USWNT teammate and Gotham FC player, Ali Krieger. Some fans criticized Morgan for trolling her after she faced such an unfortunate incident. Interestingly, the English broadcaster also made harsh remarks on Rapinoe when she announced her USWNT retirement.

Rapinoe played her last international game on September 22nd, 2023, against South Africa and won the match 3-0. Lynn Williams impressed the fans with two goals, followed by Trinity Rodman, who scored one goal. Soon after the game, Rapinoe spoke about her soccer career, and Morgan listened to it on his show, ‘Piers Morgan Uncensored.’

He then verbally tore her apart by saying that she is the most annoying athlete in the world who has finally retired from international soccer. He later insulted her by stating that she just kicked around with a little ball, and her performances were far from extraordinary. Later, he shocked the audience by claiming nobody was waiting to see her make the world a better place!
