It’s safe to say Manchester City has hit the jackpot with Erling Haaland. The towering Norwegian striker was on a record-breaking spree in his debut Premier League campaign. And it’s safe to say that his second season is on a similar trajectory. The victory over RB Leipzig was a significant one as he rewrote the UCL history. His feats have not gone unnoticed as a soccer expert from his homeland lavished praise on the lethal striker.

Erling Haaland is leading the Premier League scoring charts and his contributions have seen the Sky Blues maintain the highest quality despite the absence of Kevin De Bruyne. His recent injury in the international break doesn’t seem to have affected his rhythm as the striker continues banging in goals.

Jan Aage Fjortoft seems impressed by Erling Haaland’s improvements. He made his thoughts clear on ESPN as he said, “His heading ability is much better. His buildup play is much better.” The pundit also lavished praise on the striker’s mindset by citing his ability to block out expectations, records, and other distractions. According to him, Haaland still has room for improvement. He revealed, “There is a lot of work in progress, even Erling is a work in progress”. It’s hard to believe that a player who already scores 40 goals a season can still improve. Defenders certainly won’t be too pleased to hear this.

This is not the first time Fjortoft has given a thumbs-up to Erling Haaland. Back in 2022, following his electric start at the Etihad, the expert had explained how the lethal striker would fit with the team. He called the mix of Haaland’s incredible runs along with Manchester City’s creative players as a destructive combination. This analysis proved to be quite accurate. At the moment, the sky seems the limit for the #9. Even if he is not the complete product yet, as per Fjortoft, he is still good enough to break to destroy UCL records.
