Manchester City superstar Erling Haaland has emerged as one of the top players in the world. The Norwegian striker has taken the Premier League by storm in just two seasons. However, while the player continues to break records on the field, he has to do a lot to catch up to some of the top-earning soccer stars on social media. In what is a big surprise, the player has finished 9th on the list of the top ten earners from social media.

The player has been trumped by rival Kylian Mbappe who has finished at the upper half of the standings. However, if Haaland continues to deliver on the field, it won’t be long before he finds his way to the top half of the list.

According to a report from the Spanish outlet Marçà, the Norwegian has a long way to go when it comes to social media earnings. The player has finished 9th on the list behind 8 players, with an estimated earning of $13,500 per social media post.

PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe is the undisputed king when it comes to social media earnings. The Frenchman reportedly makes over $93,000 from a single social media post. The PSG ace has the highest engagement rate on his posts, with his numbers reaching 4.47%. Mbappe is closely followed by the likes of Paul Pobga, and Sergio Ramos, who make $62,000 and $60,000 respectively.

The trio is at the top of the chart with fourth-placed Antoine Griezmann nowhere close to the top three in terms of his earnings. Griezmann is joined by fellow LaLiga stars Toni Kroos, Robert Lewandowski, and Luka Modric, who’ve finished 5th, 6th, and 7th on the standings.

However, while all these players are making over $25,000, the last three on the list are nowhere close to the $20 million paycheck. Haaland’s fellow Manchester City teammate Kevin De Bruyne has finished 8th on the list with a reported earning of $15,750.

Nonetheless, Haaland, despite his low social media earnings, continues to make up for his performance on the field. The player is once again leading the race for the Golden Boot award in the Premier League with 13 goals to his name.

While social media might not be Erling’s forte, scoring goals surely is becoming a regular occurrence for the striker. Haaland has stated from where he left last season. The Manchester City number nine has emerged as the top goal scorer for his team so far this season. The player has scored 17 goals in 18 games across all appearances and shows no signs of stopping.

The Norwegian was on top of his game on his last outing in the Premier League. The striker found the back of the net twice as Manchester City drew 4-4 against Chelsea. While the Cityzens found the lead in the closing minutes of the game, former Man City player Cole Palmer leveled the scores for the Blues with a penalty in the dying minutes.
