Erling Haaland is the crown jewel in Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side. The Norwegian machine has been breaking record after record since he arrived in England. But will he stay there long enough to become a legend in the ilk of Kevin De Bruyne & David Silva? His latest comments would not excite the Manchester City faithful.

In a recent presser, Erling Haaland talked about life at Manchester City. He said, “I’m really happy here, the manager, the board, everyone.” However, he didn’t give the most convincing answer regarding his future at the English Club. The Norwegian ace said, “We never know what the future is and that will probably be your headline, but just write what I said before.” Not the news Manchester City fans would have wanted to hear.

Furthermore, there were reports in November that Erling Haaland wasn’t interested in extending his stay in Manchester. With the Norwegian having won everything with the Sky Blues, seeking greener pastures is understandable. But, very few clubs can be considered as a step up from Manchester City. Two of them include include FC Barcelona & Real Madrid.

Unfortunately for Culers, Xavi has already ruled out a move for the Norwegian, citing the club’s financial situation. It leaves Real Madrid, already on the verge of signing Kylian Mbappe, the probable destination. Hence, should Los Blancos move in for Haaland? A legendary manager reckons yes.

Fabio Capello wants Erling Haaland over ‘better footballer’ Kylian Mbappe at Madrid

The Italian tactician recently revealed whom he would sign out of the two for Madrid. Capello said, “If Madrid is going to sign, they have to ask themselves if they have a center forward now. And it doesn’t have it. He needs that more. But if you are going to look at technical quality, who is the better footballer, Mbappé is above Haaland! ”

Following Karim Benzema’s departure, the Spanish giants have lacked a talismanic presence in the #9 position. Moreover, Capello added that Mbappe is not a striker and was a winger in the mold of Vinicius Jr.

Notably, the Spanish giants have a history with the Man City star. There were reports that Los Blancos tracked the Norwegian before his $62.6 million move to the Premier League. The striker has a release clause of a whopping $219 million, but with the $100 million signing of Jude Bellingham last summer, Florentino Perez is not shy of splashing the cash.

Considering their Galactico past, it is well possible that Madrid could line up with an attack of Mbappe, Haaland & Vinicius in the future! It will not bode well for their opponents. Will Erling Haaland commit long-term to Manchester City? Tell us below in the comments.
