When a team has the ability to find the missing piece in the puzzle, it becomes complete. But Manchester City has a gem that not only fits perfectly but also makes you very formidable. Erling Haaland is making the Premier League look like a 1st-grade math problem. He is on the verge of breaking yet another Premier League record. Things are happening so quickly that even coach Pep Guardiola asked journalists to have patience with him.
Haaland started the current season on a good note with already a hat trick to his name. But the Norwegian is still yet to pick up his last season’s momentum, which may seem surprising. Since Erling Haaland joined City from Borussia Dortmund, he has been their highest goalscorer. And confidently, the forward is not looking to slow down at the moment.

Erling Haaland broke the news last season after his $60+ million deal with Manchester City. After his arrival at the Etihad, the Manchester City giant has scored a mammoth 43 goals in just 40 games in the Premier League alone. Additionally, the forward was also involved in providing 9 assists in the league. He is now on the brink of breaking the record of the fastest to score 50 goals in the Premier League.
Haaland is on the lookout for Manchester United’s Andrew Cole record of scoring 50 goals in just 65 games. Even though he has only six more to score, Haaland has 24 additional games to break it. After Andy Cole, other players who have reached the milestone are Alan Shearer, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Fernando Torres, and Mohamed Salah.
Although a bit low in dribbling prowess, Erling Haaland’s power and precision inside the box are very high. The 6’4 inch forward also has more advantage in aerial duels inside the box. Recently, Pep Guardiola had an interesting conversation with the media. The Spaniard made an unusual but special request to them, asking them not to criticize the Norwegian.
Guardiola’s request for patience on his lethal striker
Haaland’s deal was a bit of a surprise, considering his value on the market. However, he would consider himself fortunate to be playing under Pep Guardiola, who is currently one of the best managers in the world. Pep has so much confidence in Haaland that he asked reporters not to criticize him as they would feel guilty because he will score.

He said, “My advice on Erling Haaland is: not to criticise him much. Criticise full-backs, central defenders, the manager, but never ever the striker who is scoring all the goals”.
