Man City was awarded a free kick at the edge of the penalty area in the dying minutes of the game. Jack Grealish, Ruben Dias, and Bernardo Silva were engaged in a tactical discussion before the kick. At this moment, Cole Palmer discreetly strolled around his former teammates in an effort to listen to their chat before the free kick. A clip went viral on social media where Ruben Dias initially noticed him and Erling Haaland finally took matters into his hands.

The Norwegian star playfully dragged his former teammate away from the discussion with a smile. Previously, they shared the field 12 times. This instance brought back memories of their friendship from the earlier years. Cole Palmer said during the press conference, “‘I didn’t hear anything, I was just having a laugh, to be honest. I think Erling [Haaland]  found it pretty funny, I don’t think the others did.

However, neither player had the last laugh despite making noteworthy contributions to the match. Goals and defensive mistakes culminated in a game that saw a flurry of goals from both ends.
