Al Nassr has caused a revolution in Saudi soccer by bringing in Cristiano Ronaldo. But the club has its own set of off-field issues to handle. Even though the world outside the club may not understand its priorities, Al Nassr has been handling the issue of their former striker, Abderrazak Hamdallah. After 21 months of unrest between the two parties, the reports suggest that they are willing to come to a settlement.

The club feels that the player moved to the rival club, Al Ittihad, in an improper way. Things have changed for the club since the issue started in November 2021. And now the parties seem to be seeking a way out.

The striker was the next big thing in Saudi soccer. The player’s contract was terminated after he was accused of being in contact with Al Ittihad despite being held by his then-contract. However, after initial grief regarding the matter, Al Nassr’s management and the player’s party are ready to compromise. The Moroccan lawyer, the player, and Al Nassr have begun discussions, according to the report.

But no latest update has been given by any of the clubs as yet. In regards to the issue, Al Ittihad was accused of connecting with the player despite him being under Al Nassr’s contract. The Riyadh club also claimed to have the recordings of the discussion between the player and Hamed Al-Balawi, a senior executive at Al-Ittihad. A complaint was filed in early 2022 with the SAFF, and if proven, the player could be susceptible to a few months’ suspension and a fine.

On the other hand, as things progressed, FIFA ordered the club to pay the player $4.3 million. This was because the club had terminated his contract, and Hamdallah referred the issue to the soccer board to claim the release money. However, the SAFF’s verdict on the issue has not yet come officially. As things moved on, Al Nassr bought Cristiano Ronaldo and can leave aside the highly successful striker’s issue.

Can Cristiano Ronaldo do better for Al Nassr than Hamdallah?

Hamdallah has established himself as one of the most fearful strikers in Saudi. Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo is having a great time this season and has scored 20 goals already. But will the Portuguese star take them to glory like the Moroccan?

Hamdallah has also been terrific for Al Ittihad. The player proved pivotal in Al Ittihad’s league win last season, scoring 21 goals, the highest for the club. The player also scored 13 goals this season in all competitions and is still looking for more. On the whole, despite off-field issues, the 33-year-old striker is still making the same impact he did for Al Nassr in Saudi.
