There have been very few signings that have garnered the attention of Real Madrid fans, like 17-year-old wonderkid Endrick. And yesterday’s game against England was a perfect example of why. His late winner propelled Brazil to a 1-0 victory at Wembley. Hence, Los Blancos supporters seem confident Endrick can mark an era at the club like Cristiano Ronaldo. Interestingly, the Brazilian already admitted to learning from the 5-time Ballon d’Or winner.
In his emotional letter published in the Players’ Tribune, the left-footed attacker revealed what he learned from Ronaldo through YouTube videos. He said, “More than anyone, I watched Cristiano. Not just his highlights, but also how hard he worked, and what others said about his mentality. From him, I learned that hard work is more important than talent.” Such words illustrate that Endrick’s thought process is far beyond a normal 17-year-old soccer star.
Moreover, he also revealed his goal of meeting Cristiano Ronaldo. Endrick added, “One day, I hope to meet him. I still haven’t yet, as I am writing this. But his son follows me on Instagram, so I hope that by the time you are reading this, I have been able to shake his hand. God willing, all will go well at Real Madrid and with my career, and Cristiano will follow me!.”

For Endrick, Cristiano Ronaldo is an idol and was chosen even ahead of the likes of Lionel Messi and Neymar while naming his ultimate soccer player. Moreover, when asked to pick between Cr7 and Ronaldo Nazario, the young star quickly selected the Portuguese star. However, despite his admiration for CR7, there is one player for Endrick, who reigns supreme above all.

Endrick snubbed Cristiano Ronaldo for Brazilian icon
In a recent interview, Endrick discussed his soccer idols. However, instead of Cristiano Ronaldo, the youngster picked Brazilian legend Pele. Endrick said, “For me, he is the king. There is no one who comes close to being compared to him. I thank God that he existed.” With 1279 goals and 3 World Cups, the Santos icon has left an irrefutable legacy in the beautiful game. In the same interview, Endrick also spoke about Cristiano Ronaldo’s rival Lionel Messi. Regarding the Inter Miami star, Endrick said, “He is the best in the world, and I want to enjoy playing with him.”
Endrick will join Real Madrid in July 2024 and has set some big targets for himself. The striker said he wants to win 10 La Ligas and 5 UCLs! A trophy haul even better than that of Cr7? Will he be able to achieve it, though? Have your say in the comments below.
