The success graph of Wrexham has historically risen thanks to the immaculate efforts of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. With the promotion, they are making their ambitions bigger every day. While they must be eager to kick off their new season ASAP, they must pass a pre-friendly test.

The pre-season friendly will see them face two Premier League clubs. The match is surely an anticipated one, but just before the fixture, Wrexham’s director once made a big admission about the Welsh side.

Before Ryan Reynolds’ side begins their EFL League Two journey, they will be presented with another uphill task. The Welsh side will play emphatic friendly ties against Manchester United and Chelsea. The match isn’t only for preparation, but it gives the clubs a chance to boost their profile, especially among the US fans.

Both Premier League clubs are onboarded on the tour to give a boost to their profiles. However, the Dragons’ executive director, Humphrey Ker, believes it is because of Wrexham that both clubs are growing their profile in America. While giving an interview to SportsPro, Ker made a hilarious comment.

He said, “Yeah, I think so, they’re trying to be like eels that attach themselves to sharks very much, is how I see them.” The executive director says both clubs are using their profiles to grow bigger in the US. Ker is addressing Wrexham as a shark, while both of the PL clubs as eels.

Indeed, it is quite a big and cheeky statement from Ker. Wrexham executive Shaun Harvey also agreed to his words, as they insist the Red Dragons have a bigger audience in the US than in the UK. Either way, fans will be looking ahead to both fixtures.
