Eden Hazard announces retirement from the national team

Real Madrid superstar Eden Hazard has recently taken a big decision to retire from international football. He will not be unavailable for further national team selections in the future. This is the 2nd departure from the Belgium team after Roberto Martinez’s departure.

Hazard’s announcement read: “A page turns today… Thank you for your love. Thank you for your unparalleled support. Thank you for all this happiness shared since 2008. I have decided to put an end to my international career. The succession is ready. I will miss you….#onestensemble.”

Belgium entered the World Cup with a lot of expectations. However, they lost to Morocco and drew against Croatia in the group stages. They finished 3rd in Group F with four points. They were sent home packing as Morocco finished 1st in the group with 7 points.
