Wrexham AFC is lucky to have owners like Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. The Hollywood owners took over the club’s reign and led the fifth-division side to emphatic success. The club recently achieved the long-awaited promotion to the Football League, thus ending the 15-year-old exile.

The Welsh side concluded a record-breaking season, thus ending the season with 11 points. Both the managers and players have worked day and night to achieve their dream promotion. After closing the chapter of the National League, the club will now shift its focus to the new league.

The preparations for the new season have already begun, as they are looking to bolster their squad. While a squad revamp is on the cards, the Red Dragons’ manager, Phil Parkinson, has given transfer predictions regarding his star players.

Wrexham boss makes a huge roster claim

The soccer world has been watching Wrexham’s empathic campaign. Almost every player on the team caught the eye of spectators. They may have even grabbed the eyeballs of other soccer clubs that may be interested in forking out a few deals. However, Dragons’ boss Parkinson believes he will retain his whole squad ahead of the new campaign.

“I think the lads will want to stay,” Parkinson said. “To be part of this club at the moment is special so I don’t envisage anybody that is in contract moving on at this stage.” The gaffer is confident non of the players would be looking for pastures new. He also insists that players are desperate to kick off the new season. “The lads are all eagerly anticipating next season already.”

While McElhenney and the players are partying in Las Vegas, Parkinson insists on avoiding the trip in order to prepare for a new life ahead. “The lads have been away and I am away this week,” he said. The 55-year-old also gave insights on players’ contract situations that have already expired. “Hopefully by the end of the week we will have had all the relevant meetings,” Parkinson added.

While Parkinson is busy staring at his tactic board, Reynolds is busy tussling to land a Championship star. The Deadpool actor is eager to sign Cheltenham Town striker Alfie May. The player has been in impressive form, hitting the 20-goal mark in the last two years. The striker has also caught the eye of Reynolds, who is desperate to bring the player to the Racecourse Ground.

However, Reynolds is facing tough competition from May’s other potential suitors. Championship sides Huddersfield and Millwall are keeping tabs on the 29-year-old, while Birmingham failed with a deadline-day approach in January. Furthermore, third-division sides Peterborough and Derby and League Two side Gillingham are also monitoring the situation.
