Erling Haaland is gaining popularity, especially after his move to the Premier League champions last summer. Regarded as the next big thing in soccer, the Norwegian wanted to trademark his name.

Haaland, with Kylian Mbappe, is considered the successor to the legacy of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. After plying his trade in Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund, he took an enormous step by joining Manchester City. He took the mantle of goal-scoring at City and returned the club’s investment with a sensational season. The stature of Haaland increased after his Premier League move.
Owing to these, he made three applications to the Norwegian Industrial Property Office via the law firm Schjodt. Norwegian outlet VG reported it recently. The three applications included trademarking his name, signature, and lotus celebrations. The authorities accepted the other two applications, rejecting the trademarking of his name application.

The reason being there’s already another application for the name. According to reports, an individual from Oslo applied in 2022 and wants to use Erling Haaland’s name on his clothing brand. The City striker has three months to appeal the decision. Also, he can get it done if the original applicant does not use the name for the next five years.
It remains to be seen what course of action Haaland takes. Meanwhile, despite the rejection, the striker will focus on the game against Inter Milan to achieve his biggest dream.

After beating Manchester United last Saturday, City is one step closer to winning the treble. They will face Inter Milan this week in Istanbul in the UEFA Champions League final. Haaland has been sensational in the Champions League, too. He has 12 goals and will win the Golden Boot. He will take the field determined to win the Champions League and achieve his enormous dream.
