PETA is an animal rights non-profit organization based in the United States. They claim to have more than 9 million members around the world. They have been active for more than four decades and have been vocal about animal rights. However, the organization continuously faces flak from many people around the world who don’t agree with their initiative. They have been very active on social media and recently called out Real Madrid Vinicius Jr, at the FIFA World Cup.

Brazil has been in top form in the world cup in Qatar. One of their biggest driving force in the tournament has been Vinicius Junior. Apart from his performance, Vinicius is facing backlash over an incident that happened during a press conference. A cat climbed up on the table during the press conference. However, as the player laughed, the press officer grabbed the cat and threw it on the ground.

While Vinicius laughed as the press officer tossed the cat, some journalists questioned the incident. The video has gone viral on social media for the wrong reasons, as PETA called him out. Many fans and celebrities also reacted to the rude incident. In fact, Canadian actress Tara Strong called him a ‘douche’.

PETA took to Twitter to react to the incident and questioned, “What’s this guy’s problem?”

They continued: “Next time he encounters a cat, he should smile & laugh like Brazil star @vinijr instead of being so rude & rough. We hope someone is looking after this sweet cat who is probably homeless—just like so many others.”

“Real men are kind to animals, including cats! 🐱💖,” PETA added.
