It has been a remarkable few years for Wrexham AFC co-owner Ryan Reynolds. And we are not talking about his acting endeavors. But an entrepreneur in Reynolds is making headlines. First, it was a $2.5 million investment to take over the Welsh club with Rob McElhenney.

The Deadpool actor also shocked the world with the Alpine F1 investment. But the Mint Mobile and T-Mobile deal made a year special for him. T-Mobile purchased Mint Mobile for a billion dollars, adding $300 million (for his 25% stake) to his fortunes. Moreover, Wrexham won the league and got the promotion to EFL League Two.

However, Reynolds is known for his donations to noble causes. This side of the Deadpool star came to focus during his tenure as Wrexham owner. Be it the donations towards the community or children’s futsal team in Wrexham or recent ones to the Wrexham Police FC for a cancer charity. And now his club is set to rake over $150,00 for charity in their preseason game.

Wrexham and Chelsea game for charity

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney sent Wrexham fans in shockwaves after announcing two high-profile friendlies on the US tour. The world’s third-oldest soccer club will play Manchester United and Chelsea in the US. Meanwhile, reports emerged that the sold-out game against Chelsea will see part of the amount (over $150,000) handed to a charity.

Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, will host the game. It will be the first international game in the 51,000-seater stadium on July 19. Unified Events are the organizers of the game and reported that they would donate a portion of every ticket sold to the Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Clinic at UNC Children’s Hospital. The intriguing part is the American ownership of both clubs.
