There are a few coaches who work their magic coaching off the field. They focus on helping the players build stronger mental resilience. Like former Chicago Bulls and LA Lakers coach Phil Jackson. In women’s soccer, it is the USWNT coach Emma Hayes. Her priority has always been to make sure that her players have fun and make memories as a family. Hayes, anyhow, has earned the right to brag about having fun, as she boasts a huge title cabinet. That’s a different story. The 47-year-old coach has again said that the USWNT tread lightly and triumphed at the Olympics.

Emma Hayes had one Herculean task. To take the USWNT back to the top after the humiliating World Cup exit in 2023. She couldn’t have completed the task perfectly. And after Hayes secured the Olympic gold, “Beautiful France,” gave her opportunities and relax. Speaking in a post-Olympic interview, the British coach teased a part of her coaching philosophy. ” I work with a tremendous team, behind the team, and that Collective effort was so powerful,” Hayes said during her interview with ESPN FC.

The Team USA coach added, “But I’ve learned in my coaching career like don’t wish days away don’t spend time over the small stuff make our memories. And we’ve done that and that’s why we’re here. It had been 12 years since the last US Gold Medal.”

Thereafter, the former Chelsea boss proudly stated that the Olympic-winning USWNT is a part of legendary US teams such as the 96, and 99 teams. Since the young bunch of US stars toiled to seize the glory of this stature, Hayes made sure that they partied hard after the gold medal game. Then, the English boss again spoke of chilling with her players in the locker room.

Continuing on the same interview, Emma Hayes gleefully said that every other USWNT is her “friend.”She also said all players like each other. While Hayes stresses so much about fun, friendship, and memories, she has also made sure that every other individual and superstar puts the team first. “Everybody put the team first and trust me when everyone puts the team first you got a better chance of winning,” Hayes said.

Thereafter, the ESPN interviewer asked where the US coach ranked her Olympic gold. Without any hesitation, the London-born coach said she ranks it at the top. It must be noted that the 47-year-old was a serial winner with Chelsea. She led the London club to seven Women’s Super League victories. She left Chelsea for the USWNT after winning her fifth consecutive WSL title with Chelsea. However, for Hayes, the Olympic gold she earned with the US stars shines the most.
