After a $2.5 million takeover of Wrexham AFC in February 2021, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney had a massive dream. Their target is to take the club to the Premier League in ten years. Recently, the club’s superstar striker gave a significant boost to the dreams of the owners by making an enormous claim.

The Red Dragons have taken the first step to fulfill the dream of their Hollywood owners. They achieved promotion to the fourth tier of English soccer after 15 years in the Vanarama National League. And before going to Vegas for a grand promotion party, Super Mullin has already set a goal for the next five years.
Super Mullin thinks Wrexham can achieve big in the next five years
Paul Mullin played a significant role in the club’s promotion. He was a top scorer for the club, with 38 goals in the league and 46 overall. After getting a promotion, Mullin gave an exclusive interview to GQ Magazine and spoke about various aspects. When asked about the future after a title-winning season, Mullin said, “Wrexham should be aiming to be in the Championship in five years. I don’t see why not.”
It looks like Mullin has set sights on getting the club he joined in 2021 to the top division. Earlier this year, Ryan Reynolds set his sights on taking the club to the top division in the next ten years. “In 10 years’ time, the plan has and always will be the Premier League,” Reynolds explained. “If it’s theoretically possible to go from the fifth tier to the Premier League, why wouldn’t we try?” the Deadpool star added.
The team responded to the last season’s disappointment in a better way this season. They put in brilliant efforts to win the title and seal the promotion. However, it won’t be a straightforward task for the club to reach the Premier League. They need to build a squad ready for the top division of soccer by attracting talent. With Hollywood owners at the helm, it won’t be troublesome to get talented players, though.
