PSG put on a stunning display last night. Despite their abysmal display at St James Park, the French soccer club bounced back in style. The Ligue 1 champions defeated AC Milan 3-0 in the Champions League and now lead their group with six points. Kylian Mbappe stole the headlines after his dazzling performance, bamboozling the defenses from the first whistle. However, former Chelsea player and pundit Craig Burley turned into Nostradamus to predict the club’s future.

When fans expected them to lose their way after the departures of Lionel Messi and Neymar, Burley’s bold claim on PSG has been the talk of the town. He has caught the media’s attention by stressing his perspectives regarding their performances, and they will be knocked out soon.

Burley comes on ESPN and analyzes soccer matches, as well as predicts the team’s success in the future. So, Burley has made a bold claim that PSG won’t be able to win the Champions League and will be eliminated in the quarterfinals. On the ESPN panel show, the Scotland international said, “But looking at PSG over the piece of the season and particularly the game at Newcastle, I think we’re looking around quarterfinals. Certainly for me looking at it, looking at the side and all the changes, it’s the quarter-finals. And I don’t really see them much better than that.”

Despite the claims from Burley, PSG sits on the top of their table, with fans dubbing it the ‘Group of the Death.’ The record Ligue 1 winners are third in the French league. Despite their slow start, they are the favorites to win their domestic league like most years. But the club’s primary concern will be the contract situation of their talisman, Kylian Mbappe.

With Real Madrid looming behind the French club, they would hope to tie him up in the distant future. The talented soccer player remains one of the best players in the world and is a talent to build a team around. So, the next question is, will he do it?

Will Kylian Mbappe extend his contract with the French giants?

Many fans believed his former teammates Lionel Messi and Neymar overshadowed the 2018 World Cup winner last season. But after the departures of their superstars, Mbappe is the star of the PSG side now. However, the number seven is yet to sign a contract extension with the club. His contract will end in 2024, and many believe he will eventually join Spanish giants Real Madrid. Despite the claims from PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi, who believes that the forward will stay at PSG, it looks likely that the 24-year-old will move to Los Blancos.

Real Madrid, the Saudi Giants, and Premier League clubs remain interested in the top scorer of the 2022 Qatar World Cup. But will he accept another monstrous contract from the French giants and stay in the French capital?
