Argentina is still celebrating its triumph in the FIFA World Cup 2022. They beat France in a nail-biting final and claimed the trophy. The entire world erupted with joy and celebration as everybody saw the great soccer player Lionel Messi lifting the trophy he wanted the most. They celebrated all night long teasing the runner-ups. Some players even went as far as to twerk in underwear. The video went viral among other clips of the celebration of Argentinian players in the dressing room. However, some eagle-eyed fans caught something in the clips that might have landed the players in hot waters. NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal also noted the same things while talking about their celebration.

Just a couple of days before the tournament started, FIFA shocked everybody with the banned sale of beer and other alcoholic beverages from the stadiums. This decision most likely was influenced by the government of Qatar. Argentinian players had what appeared to be beer bottles in their dressing room.
Shaquille O’Neal talked about Lionel Messi
While talking about the victory of the Argentinian team on a podcast with NBA on TNT, he congratulated the star for his win. He said, “I also saw this picture right here and then with the caption said, ‘don’t let people from Qatar see this because there’s alcohol in the locker room.’… I wanna know who snuck it in and how much he got paid… I’m happy for Messi. Anytime you are anointed as the greatest ever and you can end you book like that… I’m sure it’s a great feeling for him and I wish him well.”

While there is no official statement from FIFA on the beer matter yet, the Argentinian team is in Argentina now and nothing will probably come out of the clips. However, the respect Shaquille O’Neal showed to the king of soccer might put a smile on the soccer fans. Apart from that, he also talked about the USMNT and how the team performed.
Shaq talked about soccer in the USA
When Shaq asked the host how many cups the USA had won, it shocked him to learn that USMNT had never won the FIFA World Cup. He faced the age-old question of soccer vs football. But, he went on to say that he respects both sports. He said about soccer and sports in the USA, “But the US, we need to get back, what’s happening?… We need to get it back USA.”

He later joked by saying that soccer is running and kicking, both of which Americans are good at. It will surely thrill him in 2026 when the USA will host the next edition of the World Cup along with Mexico and Canada.
