The ownership of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney has propelled Wrexham AFC to enormous success. The Hollywood stars had set out to transform the club when they took over as owners in 2020. And their efforts have paid off, as the club went from being a struggling team to league champions.

Indeed, it has been quite a journey for the actors, who must be looking to stay at the club for the long haul. However, being American citizens, the owners have to face geographical disparities. Both have often caught flights to see their beloved club play. It must be tiresome for the duo to make regular trips to the UK.

That problem may be resolved if they manage to buy a house in a Welsh town. In fact, recently, both owners broke their silence on the topic.

Ryan Reynolds addresses rumors of moving to Wrexham

The whole town is eager to keep the Hollywood owners in Wales. However, Reynolds was a bit conscious about his decision. In a recent podcast interview with Fearless in Devotion, he was asked about his plans to get settled locally around the town. To that, he said, “I mean, I’ve got four kids here in New York. There was an article that said I bought at home but that was not accurate at all.”

Just days after getting $337 million richer, there were reports that the actor has brought a 1.5 million home to make his Wrexham trips and stays with Blake Lively, more comfortable. However, these reports were denied. He continued, “Look, we love it you know, it’s just, to move entire families over there would be, I don’t know that would be a real act of superior third-degree black belt manipulation on my part.”

But the owner did give a ray of hope to his beloved fans. “I don’t know if I could pull that off. My wife and I love coming over though. But yeah we also love going to California but we don’t live there. So yeah, maybe one day who knows.” This is indeed the sign of the times from the Deadpool star.

It has been quite a year for Reynolds. From leading Wrexham to promotion to doubling his net worth with a billion-dollar deal, the journey has been an emphatic one. He was rumored to have made a real estate investment in the town, but the 46-year-old eventually denied it. In fact, his co-owner and best buddy, Rob McElhenney, was also asked about the idea.

While Reynolds’ answer does give a ray of hope to all the Wrexham fans, McElhenney’s answer may also bring a smile to their faces. When the Always Sunny in Philadelphia star was put up with the same question, he also gave a subtle response, suggesting he has made a lot of trips to the UK and Wales. “I looked at my calendar um and since December I took nine trips to the UK. Eight trips to Wales and nine to the UK since December,” he said.

The actor said it’s “not economically responsible” for him to make those trips “over and over again.” Hence, the actor may think about the prospect of moving someday. “So my kids are a little older, I might force their hand, we’ll see,” he added. This response does indicate that the American actor can also someday move to Wrexham.
