Amid a very public feud with Colombian pop star Shakira, Gerard Pique presented the first league title to the winner at Camp Nou. It has been a very famous and popular season and the league has been a success, spawning the possibility of Pique confirming the creation of a spin-off series for female professionals.

It was announced in the earlier week of February that Gerard Pique has reached a deal with Barcelona FC. Fans were very excited when this deal was announced. It is estimated that around 92k fans attended the match and witnessed the finals of the Kings league.

While it was a very big deal for the league to have its finals on arguably one of the most famous soccer grounds in Europe, it was purely an economical decision for the Spanish club. Fans are now noticing this decision and brutally trolling the club.

Fans trolling Barcelona for the deal with Gerard pique

While Kings league fans enjoyed the finals, others got an opportunity to troll the La Liga giants. Barcelona has been going through a rough phase. The fans are hoping these charges of paying referees to drop, so the organization could focus on building the economic base that they desperately need. While everything is going sideways off the field, the team continues torching opponents in the League.

It is not yet clear what exactly happened with the payments. UEFA has launched an official investigation into the matter. These allegations if found truthful, might land the Spanish giants in some hot water. The club has already issued a statement refusing all the claims.

Laporta talked about the scandal

Barcelona has refuted all the allegations. Barcelona President Laporta has addressed this issue in a recent talk saying, “Barca have never bought referees nor influence. That was never the intention and that has to be clear. The facts contradict those that are trying to tell a different story.” While the matter is still under investigation, nothing can be certainly said about the allegations yet.
