Lionel Messi doesn’t scare Theo Hernández
France recently knocked out Morocco in the World Cup semi-final. While Les Bleus were busy celebrating, Theo Hernández had something to say about the former Barcelona legend. In a conversation with RaiSport, Hernández said, “Messi doesn’t scare us, we know Argentina have an incredible team. We need to recover well to be at our best on Sunday”.

From the looks of it, Hernández is attempting to play mind games with Argentines. Argentina played their quarterfinal against Croatia one day prior to France’s game. The amount of rest and team conditioning a team gets before playing a game of soccer could be a strong decisive factor in the game’s result.
Despite Argentina having the upper hand here with an extra day of rest, sitting idle before an important game is not the best thing as well. Factors like complacency could be detrimental to that team’s performance.
Argentina or France – Who will prevail?
This edition of the World Cup will be Lionel Messi’s final one. To what the fans describe as the ‘Last Dance’, the soccer legend will compete in the World Cup final one last time. Messi was an inch away from winning the World Cup in 2014, but a late goal from Germany’s Mario Götze in extra time shattered the legend’s hopes of ever winning a World Cup.
Fortunately enough, with smart recruitment and proper talent nurturing by the Argentine Football Association, Argentina could be world champions again, for the first time since 1986.

Les Bleus just never seem to run out of quality players. Some of their top players like Paul Pogba, N’Golo Kante, and Karim Benzema and not even part of the French squad. There are always players ready to fill in voids that the French starting XI might have. One of the best examples was when French forward Olivier Giroud confidently stepped into the boots of Karim Benzema after the Ballon d’Or winning striker returned back home post a training injury.
