The promotion race is heating up as Wrexham looks to enter the 4th tier of English football. They have 97 points after their 3-0 victory against York City. Moreover, the club recently signed former English national team goalkeeper Ben Foster after he picked up his boots after retiring.

The club finances are intact with the latest Mint Mobile deal for Ryan Reynolds, and they are spending it wisely. With the sudden cash injection, they are signing players, and former Arsenal soccer legend, David Seaman, has offered himself to the club. Well, not a role that you would expect!

With Ben Foster arriving at Wrexham, Seaman jokingly wanted to know if there was a potential role at the club. Notably, a goalkeeper coaching role! The former Arsenal goalkeeper tweeted his intentions to Ben Foster.

Former Arsenal legend offers himself to Wrexham

Significantly, the club is looking to sign players for their final promotion push and get the club over the line. With Foster’s arrival, they have an experienced goalkeeper to take them over the line. Thus, an excited David Seaman tweeted, “Do you need a GK coach @BenFoster@Wrexham_AFC @VancityReynolds #safehands.”

Regarded as one of the greatest goalkeepers in England, Seaman had a calming influence during his playing days. He had 75 caps for England and won three league titles with Arsenal. Hence, if they manage to get Seaman to the club, Wrexham would have their hands on two solid English goalkeepers; one as a player and one as a coach. But for now, Foster is the only player in the club, and a Seaman deal would need to wait.

A knee injury to the main goalkeeper, Rob Lainton, forced Wrexham to act and getting in Foster would provide an able cover. Most people would imagine the high wages the club paid for him. However, that’s not true.

Ben Foster talks about his motivation!

According to Express, Foster explained his situation in a podcast. He said, “I don’t need much [money]. To be honest, the negotiations took about five minutes. Wages-wise, it’s literally peanuts. The part for me is getting the team over the line and getting them promoted. I’m a very low-maintenance player. Just wheel me out, I’ll do a job.”

Despite all the current riches, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney run the club well. They spend wisely and purchase the right players. Things are looking smooth in Wrexham as their April 10th game against Notts County would probably confirm their promotion. Hence, fans await to see their club in the EFL League Two next season. Do you think they will win the title as well?
