Soccer legend Gerard Pique has been making headlines recently, and unsurprisingly it has to do with his ex-Shakira. Pique, who seems to have moved on from his controversial split with the Colombian singer, is seemingly agitated whenever her name is mentioned. Despite both parties having taken jabs at each other in the past, they have moved on with their lives.

Pique is currently in a loving relationship with his girlfriend, Clara Chia Marti. The World Cup winner claims to have found true love with Marti. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that Pique was discomforted when his close friend, Ibai Llanos, brought up Shakira during a heated discussion.

Gerard Pique didn’t like the mention of Shakira

The incident took place during the talk show of the Kings League, which is streamed on Twitch and is known as After Kings. The discussion revolved around sports-related topics, but out of nowhere, Llanos mentioned Shakira, catching Pique off guard.

Llanos stated, “And the thing about Shakira following me on TikTok, what’s the point? Because she only follows 65 people. It’s just that it’s opened my head, it’s shocked me”. This unexpected mention immediately changed Pique’s demeanor, and he appeared visibly agitated. He swiftly responded, “Do you guys realize? Then you say ‘beat, beat, beat.’ It has nothing to do with the topic; you’ve brought it up”.

The Barcelona legend in his frustration further added, “Romero is not telling you off, but they would have to tell you off by hand. It’s an issue that has nothing to do, the sanctions with what you have taken out”. It is clear that Pique’s relationship with Shakira is a sensitive topic for him.

Since their split, he has had to work through the intense backlash from fans to build a new life with Clara Chia, and any mention of his former partner seems to bother him. It is understandable that he would want to distance himself from his past and focus on future endeavors. Also, Clara Chia Marti seems to be his current focus given how he recently made a bold claim regarding love.

Gerard Pique recently made some big comments about his relationship with Clara Chia. This revelation came during the After Kings live stream too. It was Ibai Llanos who playfully provoked him by suggesting that the retired defender lacked understanding of love.

Without hesitation, Pique swiftly retorted, “But what are you saying, what are you saying, always attacking me, I have already found love”. This remark undoubtedly alluded to Clara Chia Marti. He openly recognized their bond and attributed her as the catalyst for his newfound love. As Gerard Pique continues to navigate his personal and professional life, it is evident that he has moved on from his previous relationship with Shakira.
