“Do It, Then Love It, Then Worry About It” – Doted Fiance Sue Bird Reveals How ‘Megan Goggles’ Help Her Embrace Megan Rapinoe’s Fearless Free-Spirit

USWNT star Megan Rapinoe and Sue Bird are a match made in heaven. They are the star couple in the sports world, and we cannot underestimate their influences. Very vocal with their opinions, Bird and Rapinoe share a lovely relationship. Fans recognize the soccer star for her activism outside of the sport, particularly as a leading voice in the fight for women’s equal pay. She sees things differently, and in a recent interview, Bird explained her thought process through ‘Megan goggles.’

The retired WNBA star Bird explained her fiance’s thought process and how she saw things differently from others. Therefore, in the interview, Bird explained how she could not do the same. Despite that, she understands her perspective and tries to see things Megan does.

According to the Playerstribune Instagram page, Bird stated, “O.K., so: Megan, she just does things sometimes. Do it….. then love it….. then — later, at the very end, if there’s time — worry about it. That’s her M.O. Me, on the other hand….. I’m nothing like that. I’m more of the worry about it first….. and then later, if there’s time, do it type.” Bird explained perfectly the perspective change she had after looking through her eyes. Rapinoe analyzes things perfectly, and although she gets controversial, fans credit her for saying the right things at the right time. 

She continued, “So the idea of Megan Goggles, I guess, it’s this idea of like — they’re this thing that I put on, and it helps me loosen up a bit?? And just open my eyes, and see the world from Megan’s Extremely Megan perspective.⁠ And anyway, in the beginning of our relationship.” Bird explained how she used Megan’s goggles to make “cartoon versions” of themselves.

But Bird explained how she was more practical in the relationship. It is this bond that helps her to have a long and beautiful relationship with her fiance.

According to the People, the two sports superstars met during the 2016 Rio Olympics. After that, they got engaged in October 2020. They previously clarified that their relationship was progressing slowly, and they aimed to comprehend their emotions toward one another. One of their iconic moments was during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. As Bird won her fifth Olympic gold medal, the couple shared a kiss that broke the internet.
