Despite the match being on away soil, his father Tim, mother Kathy, and grandmother Coco drove 350 miles from Saint Louis to Des Moines to root for their star goalie and give him a proud hug after the game.

“They all drove up Wednesday morning when I told them I was starting,” he recalled. “Just having them there in the stands was really special.”
