Spain has won the UEFA Euro for a record fourth time, beating England 2-1 in Berlin. Moments after Dani Carvajal took the captain’s armband from Spanish skipper Alvaro Morata, Spain’s Mikel Oyarzabal pulled off a clutch equalizer to lead the Spanish Armada to the coveted win. Carvajal, notably, is celebrating a UEFA Champions League triumph and a UEFA Euro haul in the same year. His parents Mariano and Lola were there with him when Carvajal and Real Madrid won a record 15th Champions League title. Now Mariano and Lola Ramos are again here to take pride in their son’s achievements.

Here is what we could gather about the Spanish superstar’s proud parents.

All about Dani Carvajal’s parents

Dani Carvajal’s father Mariano is a part of Spain’s national police force. Thanks to his job, he cheekily found a way to join his son and other Real Madrid stars when the Blancos paraded Madrid after winning the 2024 UCL title. He also proudly escorted the Los Blancos team bus. Now that his son has powered Spain into a European crowning, we could expect Mariano to pull a similar antic in the Spanish capital. In fact, Mariano works in an administrative police role. But he did a subordinate’s task by escorting the Madrid bus. However, it is indeed a moment of immense pride when you have your victorious son on the bus.

Little is known about Carvajal’s mother Lola Ramos. Details of her profession are unclear. But what we know is she is the Spanish defender’s biggest cheerleader and a familiar face, not just in the Santiago Bernabeu, but even in the Real Madrid front office. When Carvajal renewed his Madrid contract in 2022, Real President Florentino Perez invited Lola Ramos and Mariano to join their son during the iconic moment. Besides, Carvajal has a memory of his mother chiding him during a historic day in his life as a Madridismo.

Carvajal recalls his mother asking him to wear his sleeves properly

Dani Carvajal was destined to be Real Madrid royalty right from his boyhood days in the club’s Castilla academy. He got the privilege of joining the late club legend Alfredo Di Stefano in laying the foundation stone for Real Madrid City in 2004. Seeing the club’s galactico senior players line up for the ceremony, a young Carvajal folded his sleeves in tension, only to take heat from his mother.

“I remember that my mom was annoyed at me because I had my shirt sleeves rolled up in the photos,” said Carvajal in an interview. He added, “She said, ‘Why did you roll your sleeves up? You look like a worker.”
