Wrexham seems to be in dire need of attacking reinforcements as the club’s top scorer last season, Paul Mullin is injured. Mullin was hampered by a severe injury during the pre-season friendly against Manchester United a few weeks ago. Now, the newly promoted League Two side, Wrexham AFC is on the hunt for an interim replacement striker who can lead the line for them.
Wrexham and Ryan Reynolds tried their best to bring Champions League winner, Gareth Bale out of retirement and lead the line for Wrexham. But, the Welshman didn’t agree as he thinks he isn’t fit enough to return. The Red Dragons turned their attention away from Bale and are now focusing on Wycombe Wanderers No. 9, Brandon Hanlan.
Wrexham got their initial bid for Hanlan rejected by Wycombe. But, as per reports from Football Insider correspondent Pete O’Rourke, the Welsh club has made an improved second bid for the forward and now hopes to get the deal accepted and finalized.

According to Transfermarkt, Brandon Hanlan only has a year left on his contract, and is set to become a free agent at the end of the season. If Wycombe Wanderers are willing to cash in some money, they will need to make their move now. Hanlan would be an interesting addition to the squad, and his versatility would give Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson plenty of options.
Ryan Reynolds committed to bringing in top talent
Since Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney took charge at Wrexham, there has been an influx of a great amount of signings at the Welsh club. As Reynolds previously said, “We’d be lying if the dream wasn’t the Premier League.” It is evident that the Deadpool star is motivated to bring in top talents to the Welsh club.
The club’s fans are excited about the future, and they believe that Reynolds can help them achieve their dream of earning further promotion. With Brandon Hanlan in their sight, the Red Dragons will be hoping to fight for the League Two title this season and earn up their place in EFL League One.
The Red Dragons will be in action once again when they host Bradford City in the EFL Carabao Cup on Tuesday, August 29.
