Ditched by $536,400,000 Show For Not Being ‘Big Enough For America, David Beckham’s Request Was Fulfilled 8 Years Later

Former England soccer superstar and Inter Miami owner David Beckham is one of the most recognized celebrities across the globe. The soccer icon has made a name for himself over the years, becoming a household name in the United States following his arrival in 2007. However, the player had to start somewhere with a popular show once rejecting his request, citing his lack of popularity in the United States.

While this may come off as a surprise to many, David Beckham is a fan of a popular television show and has always wanted to be a part of it. The soccer star following his move to the United States made a special request to be cast into the show but was outright declined.

Simpsons owner comments on rejecting David Beckham

The animated television show ‘The Simpsons’  has built itself as a brand over the years. The show has seen immense growth in popularity over the years, with the market value netting close to $536 million. While many celebrities have made guest appearances on the show, very few have been cast as a regular or recurring member of the cast.

Former Real Madrid star David Beckham, following his move to the United States, expressed his desire to be a part of the popular show. Beckham made numerous attempts to be a part of the show but was rejected by the writers due to the lack of popularity.

“We get a lot of requests from celebrities, and it’s always a shame when we have to turn people down. We had a request from David Beckham and I had to phone him up and tell him sorry, but I didn’t want him on the show right now. I didn’t think he was a big enough star for an American audience. I got a lot of grief about that. Some people got really angry about it and I was told, ‘I bet you would have put George Best on.’ I can pretty much say I would have turned him down too.”

However, while Beckham could not get his show fulfilled by the show and its writers, the star received an expected surprise in 2018 when a popular artist presented him with a gift.

Stefano Monda ‘simpsonizes’ the Beckham family

Popular artist Stefano Monda is known for drawing celebrities. The artist has made a name for himself by drawing people as Simpson characters. In 2018 the artist presented David Beckham with a sensational gift, drawing the entire Beckham family as Simpson characters.

Beckham took to his Instagram account to tag his entire family while thanking the artist. “I mean come on really…thank you!”

It is nice to see a player like Beckham enjoy the smaller nuances in life. Following his move to the United States, it did not take Beckham long to establish himself as a household name. The Inter Miami owner has grown leaps and bounds over the years, establishing himself as one of the most successful men in soccer.
