Inter Miami is only the latest addition to Major League Soccer. The club is still figuring out its permutations and combinations, what works and what does not. Even though it was picking traction as David Beckham’s gifted venture, the club did not rise until Lionel Messi arrived. But amid all the change, Inter Miami has figured out that one of Messi’s teammates needs to be out of the China tour.
Inter Miami made some good signing signings, including players like Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, to accompany Messi. Since the team is on a revamp, it is trying to remove any roadblocks.

The Herons will be very satisfied with their first-ever trophy in soccer, thanks to Messi’s signing. But before Lionel Messi arrived, another player was carrying the team’s burden. The club’s forward and former captain, Josef Martinez, will not be a part of Inter Miami in the future. Tata Martino, the coach, revealed the news to the media.
Martino said, “He did not travel, because it is very difficult for him to continue in the institution next season.”
The former Atlanta United player was the captain of Inter Miami before Messi arrived. Martinez is the third-highest goalscorer and the third-highest-paid player for the club in its brief history. However, Inter Miami is looking to sign Luis Suarez as a replacement, according to reports.
Before joining Inter Miami this season, Josef Martinez played for Atlanta United, scoring 103 goals. The player also holds the record in MLS for scoring the most goals in a season and winning the MLS Cup in 2018. The Venezuelan also received the armband from Messi after the Leagues Cup victory as an acknowledgment of his captaincy.

Martinez won’t play a further part alongside Messi
Even though the 30-year-old opted out from continuing next season, coach Tata Martino confirmed his absence even for the China tour. The coach said, “Josef will not be part of the tour (China), and we will analyze other situations with those players who will not continue in the institution.”

The Venezuelan also didn’t travel with the team for the last match against Charlotte FC. Fans, however, have seen the two players, Messi and Martinez, getting along well in the camp. Although brief, their chemistry was good, if not sublime, while it lasted.
