Interestingly, in her latest song, she mentioned her kids’ babysitter, who sadly was fired after she exposed the infidelity of Gerard Pique to the Waka-Waka singer.

In the last few hours, Shakira has taken the entertainment world by storm with her latest single, ‘El Jefe.’ Just like the previous ones, this time too, she has mentioned someone from her life. Earlier, the Colombian had already dedicated a few of her releases to her ex, Pique, and his new girlfriend, Clara Chia in rage.

However, in her new song, Shakira has taken a different approach by highlighting a significant individual in a positive light. Apparently, Shakira has mentioned the nanny of her kids, Lili Melgar. In part of the lyrics, Shakira says, “Lili Melgar, this song is for you, they didn’t pay you compensation.” In response, Melgar did not hesitate to speak out through her TikTok account.

As per Semana, she wrote, “Thank you Shaki”, along with the part of the video where her name is heard and she appears. While thanking Shakira, Melgar also commented that she wouldn’t say anything out of respect. Additionally, her daughter, Dariana, expressed her pride in her mother’s work and her role in the singer’s new video. She wrote, “Despite everything, she continues working with SHAKIRA. I LOVE YOU MOM”.

Indeed, it’s quite intriguing to see Shakira featuring her children’s nanny in her song. Sadly, Lilli Melgar lost her job after she revealed Pique’s infidelity to the singer.

Melgar is a Bolivian migrant, who left her country for job opportunities. Somehow, she had a fateful encounter with Shakira and Piqué when their eldest child was just a baby. This meeting led to her becoming their nanny for a decade. Unfortunately, Piqué terminated her employment upon discovering that she had informed Shakira about his infidelity with Clara Chía. Not only did Pique dismiss her, but he also neglected to fulfill his legal obligation to compensate her.

As a result, Shakira referenced Melgar’s right to compensation in her latest song. Interestingly, following her separation from Piqué, Shakira reconnected with Melgar to continue her assistance with childcare. It is reported that the Barranquilla-born artist settled her debts with her former employee. Indeed, it is quite a heartwarming gesture from the Colombian artist.
