At last, the 2023/24 season comes to an end for Al Nassr—on a disappointing note to be fair. Roshn Saudi League, AFC Champions League, Saudi Super Cup, and Kings Cup of Champions—all eluded Cristiano Ronaldo’s grasp, leaving Al Nassr without a single trophy. But even in the face of disappointment, reports suggest that financial prosperity made its way to the headquarters as they look to have secured a $12.5 million prize.

As per the economic reports shared by @9NFCBALL on X, all prizes came via consolation standings. An overall league revenue and the second-place finish brought 38m riyals ($10m). The recent disappointment in the Kings Cup of Champions bought 5m riyals ($1.3m) as well as a semifinal exit from the Saudi Super Cup brought 1m riyals ($270K). Interestingly, the women’s team also chipped in with a significant financial prize.

They won the women’s Saudi League which brought in 2m riyals ($540K). Finally, Al Nassr also achieved 13 as well as 15-year-old Al Baraem titles with which came 400,000 riyals ($107K). Adding all of these, the financial gains for Al Nassr this season have been more than 47 million riyals ($12.5m). Had Al Nassr lifted any major silverware, they would have seen more money in their bank account. Nevertheless, this isn’t a bad chunk of cash as it would help them make further developments for the club.

The Knights of the Najd would be involved in significant transfer activities which may see them flow this money around. After all, it’s not the season that Ronaldo and Co. didn’t expect it to be.

Another year in vain for Cristiano Ronaldo and Al Nassr

Scoring over 50 golazos—the individual front was quite productive for Cristiano Ronaldo. However, that success has been overshadowed by the failure to win silverware. Since the Portuguese superstar arrived in the Middle East, Al Nassr has lifted just the Arab Club Champions trophy back in August 2023. But Ronaldo has since then failed to help his side win any significant trophy. So what’s the solution for them?

The biggest of all is to, of course, make significant changes around the team. This certainly should be a busy summer for Luis Castro to make tough calls. Which players they wish to retain and want to sell is a decision that is in their hands. Also, a change in tactics is also needed. Overall, with Cristiano Ronaldo’s final year remaining, there’s a lot for CR7 as well as Al Nassr to prove. It remains to be seen how well and confidently they bounce back from this failure.
