Trent Alexander-Arnold was recently asked about his transition from a midfielder to a right-back in the academy days. While speaking to Sky Sports Premier League, the 25-year-old revealed watching the masters of the craft. “[I] watch players like Philip Lahm and Dani Alves. Just to watch Cafu, the great to the position, the ones that were the best in the position. That’s what my ambition always was; to be the best,” he said. Additionally, the player added, “Part of that was to be the best player in the position, to be the best in the world, to be someone who changed that position.”

Trent also outlined his ‘multi-layered’ aim, claiming it wasn’t just breaking into the first team, but also becoming a ‘household name’ and ‘push on win trophies, do and achieve big things.’ Notably, Trent has played 19 games for the Reds so far, notching two goals and five assists. Be that as it may, it is quite an interesting revelation from the Liverpool star. Yet, it’s quite odd, considering he expressed Steven Gerrard as his role model.
