Likewise, ever since he kept his foot in Florida, a lot of developments have unfolded. But it may still come as a surprise that David Beckham’s club has been triumphed over by a $95 million worth Mexican team.

It wasn’t the move that many expected it to be, but Messi did drop a few jaws after signing for Miami. Despite his arrival in America, his new domestic side continues to be dominated by another club. This comes after ESPN released the most expensive team report in America.

And to everyone’s surprise, Mexico’s Club America has the number one spot on the list of the most expensive teams. They are the most valuable teams in both the Liga MX and the Leagues Cup. They have a value estimated at close to $95 million. Regarding the Leagues Cup, Inter Miami currently holds the second position. They have a valuation of $91.8 million, despite having names like Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba.

In contrast, other MLS teams are ranked considerably lower, with LAFC holding the second spot with an estimated value of $72.9 million. Coming back to Liga MX, the arrival of Sergio Canales in Monterrey has given them a third-place finish with a value of around $88.4. With this, Tigres and Chivas have been left behind, both having an estimated value of around $77.5 million and $84.6 million, respectively.

Be that as it may, it definitely comes as a surprise that, despite the arrival of the $600 million-rich Messi, Miami is left behind. Nevertheless, while they may have lost a close battle in this one, things are looking good following La Pulga’s arrival.

Messi’s arrival has definitely brought a lot of luck to the Herons. Ever since the Argentine featured for Beckham’s side in the Leagues Cup, the creative maestro has single-handedly driven them to victory. During his debut, the 36-year-old came off the bench and struck a brilliant free-kick.  His efforts gave Miami a 2-1 win against Cruz Azul.

The luck continued for Messi in the following fixtures. The World Cup winner made his first start for the Herons against Atlanta United in the same competition. That also ended on a high note, as he clinched an an early half-brace and an assist. Indeed, the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner has already made a promising start and left an indelible mark on Miami. Let’s hope it stays that way for both sides.
