Despite Saudi Ban, Cristiano Ronaldo Makes a Sarcastic Gesture at Rival Fans After Al Nassr’s Loss to Al Ain in UAE

His obscene gesture against the Al Shabab fans saw Cristiano Ronaldo suspended for 1 match. Compounding the woes, the resulting absence against Al Hazm cost the Knights of Najd dearly as they walked away with just 1 point. However, in his first match back, CR7 has once again let the situation get the better of him. Footage has emerged of the soccer icon’s interaction with the opposition fans and it could potentially spell trouble for the Al Nassr captain.

Following Al Nassr’s 1-0 defeat against Al Ain, Cristiano Ronaldo did not look in a happy mood. As he made his way back to the player tunnel, he appeared to gesture something to the fans. Ronaldo appeared to move his hand toward his mouth and then immediately gave a thumbs-up. All of this, while spotting a sarcastic-looking smile. A fan on X predicts that Ronaldo’s response implied, “See you in Riyadh.”

Notably, this is Al Nassr’s first defeat in the AFC Champions League this season. The return fixture is scheduled at Al Awwal Park on March 12. This has suddenly turned into a do-or-die match for Cristiano Ronaldo & Co. considering that Al Hilal is showing no signs of a slip-up in the league. This could be Al Nassr’s best chance to win a trophy.

It remains to be seen how the AFC will react to Cristiano Ronaldo’s gesture. The footage made its way to social media and CR7 was slapped with a 1-match suspension and dual fines of $2666 and $5322. And yesterday’s gesture could potentially add to his troubles.
