Paul Mullin’s injury thwarted Wrexham’s plans for a fruitful start to the season. The player suffered a punctured lung injury after colliding heavily with the goalkeeper of Manchester United, Nathan Bishop. Thus, to bring in a new center forward, the Luke Armstrong transfer saga derailed at the last moment. But somehow, the club failed to sign the Harrogate town striker. As a result, Wrexham and Phil Parkinson remain focused on getting the deal over the line.
It would disappoint Ryan Reynolds to not get him in. But in fresh reports, the club looks to appeal the decision following the fallout of the transfer. Therefore, manager Phil Parkinson would look to complete the deal for the player, who promises goals for the soccer club.

The first issue came at 12:30 AM, according to Phil Parkinson. He commented, “We worked hard on getting a deal that suited us and Harrogate. It was held up because Harrogate wanted to get players in themselves. For whatever reason, the deal didn’t get over the line.” The club, though, did not give up on the player, as Parkinson explained how they will keep trying. On the bounce of that, Wrexham plans to get the deal over the line.
In a club statement, Wrexham responded by mentioning, “Further to Saturday’s statement on the rejection of Luke Armstrong’s transfer registration, Wrexham AFC can confirm the Club is still actively collating all the relevant information regarding a potential appeal against the decision.” Most times, the officials reject the deal. But with sufficient proof and paperwork, they could get one over the line.
The club continued in their statement, “Late this afternoon we requested key information from the EFL, which we are informed we should receive tomorrow (Tuesday) morning. A further update will be issued in due course until which time no further comment will be made.” Missing out on a striker who scored 16 goals last season will never be easy. Yet, the club kept high hopes and looked determined to land the striker.

A ready-made replacement for Paul Mullin?
To replace someone like Mullin is not easy. However, having an able backup would help the club to get on the front foot. As of right now, Mullin has scored 74 goals and created three assists for the club. Yet, having a solid backup helps the team to score goals. Even though they have Armstrong in the pipeline, the club seems to be on the right track with their form. They are 13th in the EFL League Two standings.
If they approve the appeal, Wrexham will have their hands on another striker. If not, Mullin will be ready to unleash himself after the injury. Do you think the Welsh club should sign Armstrong?
