Neymar sent shockwaves across the world when he announced his signing with Saudi giants Al Hilal. While the Brazilian soccer icon could have easily stayed in Europe for more years, the $435 million package by Al Hilal seemingly proved to be too lucrative for him to reject. Interestingly, this revelation has sparked a conversation between K-Pop and soccer fans who are comparing Lisa’s influencer marketing charges with Neymar’s. The comparison originated online after the duo posted a photograph together in Paris earlier this year.
The deal also involves a special social media clause where the ex-PSG man would pocket a whopping $544,000 USD per social media post.

BLACKPINK’s lead singer Lisa is a certified K-Pop star and social media sensation. Thanks to this popularity of hers, she boasts a following of 96.9 million fans on her Instagram. As per The Straits Times, she earns nearly $780,000 per Instagram paid promotion post. This figure is nearly $232,000 more than what Neymar earns despite the latter boasting 212 million followers on Instagram. This has sparked a discourse among K-pop and soccer fans who were gushing over the duo’s photo in January this year.

However, the logical reason behind the pay disparity can be attributed to the engagement rate of the account, public image, and the industry they belong to. The music industry is a much easier sell for brands thanks to its mass appeal and impact. Secondly, Neymar is currently involved in quite a few personal scandals which would have made a dent in his credentials.
Lastly, there is a huge difference in the engagement rate of both accounts. As per Inbeat.co, Neymar Jr’s engagement rate is 1.91% which pales in comparison to 8.77% of Lisa’s. Moreover, the K-pop star’s avg like per post metric [8.46M] is double with respect to Neymar Jr [4.05M].
All said and done, a few hundred thousand dollars won’t affect the Brazilian much thanks to the additional perks offered by Al Hilal.

When Cristiano Ronaldo moved to Al Nassr last year, his contract raised the bar for wages and bonuses, setting the tone for new stars heading to Saudi Arabia. While Cristiano is the highest earner in the SPL, Neymar’s fresh and impressive contract deserves attention. For starters, the Brazilian’s deal reportedly boasts an astounding $218 million in wages.
Additionally, Neymar stands to gain $87,300 for each triumph of Al Hilal, alongside perks such as exclusive access to a private plane courtesy of the Saudi Arabian club, and a sprawling residence complete with a dedicated staff. The club is also sorting out his on-ground travel by organizing a Mercedes G Wagon, a Mercedes van, a Lamborghini Hurricane, a Bentley Continental GP, and an Aston Martin DBX in his garage.
