Real Madrid’s newly signed English prodigy grabbed the spotlight with his impressive goal-scoring ability early in this season. The former BvB midfielder has already matched a 14-year-old record of Cristiano Ronaldo. So, it does not come as a surprise that his former coach highly regards the 20-year-old and draws comparisons to the likes of Zinedine Zidane.
Jude Bellingham is delivering ecstatic performances for Madrid, emulating the mastery in midfield and the control of Zidane. Soccer fans were also quick to draw parallels with CR7’s career after his fiery start to the season. However, the former assistant coach of Birmingham City has a different comparison to make for the Englishman.

The ex-Dortmund star remarked as the next Zidane of Real Madrid
Jude Bellingham netted six goals in six games for Los Blancos. The $111 million star made an instant impact from the moment he debuted for the Spanish capital. In this instance, Paco Herrera, Bellingham’s former assistant coach from Birmingham City, commended his performances and remarked on the tactical input that helped to cement his position in the squad.
Herrera was the first coach to recognize the emerging talent when the ex-Dortmund star was 16 years old. Notably, he emphasized Bellingham’s reputation is built on his technical abilities in the midfield. He also believed the Englishman would generate more goal-scoring opportunities for his teammates during his tenure with Real Madrid. He remarked that Bellingham was “more Zidane than Ronaldo” in terms of their playing style.
Paco Herrera said in an interview, “More like Zidane, for me. Zidane was involved in midfield football. He’s going to be involved in that football, from midfield and going out to receive. Combine with teammates and always appear in the final play”.

Cristiano Ronaldo will be very crucial to Madrid’s hopes of wining the match against Malaga.
Back on September 2, Bellingham scored a stoppage-time goal against Getafe in La Liga, matching the record held by Ronnie. Moreover, the 20-year-old sensation left his mark in the closing minutes of a UCL tie against Union Berlin with a scrumptious strike, securing their inaugural victory in the group stage.
