Famous Canadian rapper Drake was in Argentina for the famous Lollapalooza festival. It is a three-day music festival where famous musicians from around the world perform. This year, Drake was one of the performers with Billie Eilish. Drake surprised the audience by singing Muchachos, that Argentine fans sang for Lionel Messi during the Qatar World Cup last year. 

The Grammy award winner is known for the famous Drake’s Curse in the sports world. His fans were excited to see the rapper perform. Meanwhile, many fans were disappointed as the rapper cut short his performance and also the live stream of the show. However, the Canadian rapper won hearts by singing the famous Argentine World Cup song.

Drake sings the famous Muchachos

A video emerged on social media after the performance of the rapper. The video shows Drake singing Muchachos during his performance. Soon, the fans joined him and started singing the song, which is now the unofficial Argentine soccer anthem. The fans sang the whole song once Drake started it.

It is indeed a special song for Argentine soccer fans. They started the song as a chant for Messi. Muchachos became famous after Argentina beat Brazil in Copa America final in 2021. The victory came as a boost for the fans who believed Argentina can win the World Cup in 2022.

Argentine fans sang the song as an anthem during the complete Qatar World Cup campaign. They kept inspiring the team and their talisman, Lionel Messi, throughout the World Cup. Even Messi enjoyed the song on a few occasions. The inspiration from the fans came in handy as Messi inspired them to win the coveted trophy for the first time since 1986.

Messi won the World Cup for the first time and completed soccer. Drake, by singing Muchachos, took the fans down memory lane and refreshed all their memories of the Qatar World Cup campaign. 

Drake lost a million by betting on Lionel Messi and Argentina

The Grammy winner placed a bet on the Qatar World Cup final played between Argentina and France. His stake was in Argentina winning the World Cup. Despite Argentina winning the World Cup, Drake lost a million in just a few minutes after the game.

The rapper put the bet on the platform that accounts only for a regulation time. It was a platform that didn’t consider extra time, and the rapper lost it as the game ended in a draw in regulation time.
